Meet Our Entrepreneurs
Meet Stephanie, Owner of Peace of Mind
Mental health is vital to our overall health. Motivated by having to watch kids and parents endure endless wait times for help, Stephanie decided to launch Peace of Mind, a child and youth therapy service.
Through individual counselling and group programming, Stephanie is helping the next generation power through life’s challenges. A great idea, but her lack of business experience made the prospect of beginning daunting. She contacted us at Innisfil Economic Development and was happy she did.
Together, we looked over suitable locations in Innisfil, and filled her in on the different development projects in healthcare happening in the area. These trends, as well as information on the town’s growth and its proximity to both Barrie and the GTA, made Innisfil an easy choice for Stephanie.
With financing set up through Nottawasaga Futures, Stephanie was able to launch her business quickly and successfully. The small town feel, out of the box business thinking and supportive community spirit were all icing on the cake!
Meet Caleb, Owner of 911 Priority
911 Priority has a clear business model: to outfit emergency vehicles with effective lights, seats, high tech gadgets, prisoner bars and more. The early days of 911 Priority met some significant financial challenges in Toronto due to expensive industrial land. Caleb began to look north of the city as a cheaper alternative, for a new home for both his business and family.
He contacted the economic develop-ment groups of smaller communities around Barrie, only to be told that he was on his own when it came to research and next steps.
However, when he reached out to us at Innisfil Economic Development, we got back to him quickly and provided Caleb with affordable site choices, including prices and contracts, as well as funding connections and provincial grant options the next day. The rest is history.
Today, 911 Priority is located just off highway 400, for easy access to drop off emergency vehicles being outfitted, and Caleb’s family are enjoying the home and lifestyle of Innisfil that they couldn’t have imagined in Toronto.
